Mama's 60th Birthday Fiesta | November 4th 2012

My Mama's birthday is tomorrow [7th November],but this past Sunday I organised a [*surprise] party for her.Almost 50 of her nearest and dearest wandered into our backyard for birthday festivities filled with organic eats.copious amounts of alcohol & 5 coconut + lime birthday cakes.

Mum & her friends/family enjoyed themselves thoroughly which in turn made me happy.I've never cooked for 50 people and I probably never will again because it is a gigantic amount of preparation + work + stress! But completely worth it for this occasion 'coz she's my Mum & to see her laughing,bantering,smiling,loving + singing is bliss.

HAPPY 60TH BIRTHDAY MUM! I hope I can not only look as awesome as you when I'm 60,but be as fierce. GIGANTIC LOVE + HUGS xx

Even after all the ugly,horrendous,painful experiences throughout my life,it is still just 1 pleasant year that I wish I could erase forever.

I can deal with the pain now,but I cannot deal with the loveliness of a past experience that ended suddenly.Go figure.

The Village Markets X Millie

Recently I was asked by The Village Markets ladies to design their new market totes,last weekend they finally arrived fresh from the printers & ready to be toted by market shoppers.

I'm really happy with how these little guys turned out! You can own your own tote for just $5,all you need to do is pop along to The Village Markets,Burleigh Heads on the 1st + 3rd Sunday of every month or pop over to their site to nab yourself some tote goodness!

The Secret Hobo Jungle an exhibition of Paintings.Illustrations.Photography & all things handcrafted.

Last Saturday I had my solo exhibition,the first in a very long time & after a few weeks of late nights,freaking the fuck out & numerous trips to the art shop,the exhibition was a really awesome night for both myself and everybody who came along for the arty festivities.Lots of people rocked up & I was quite surprised by the love given by all! Jungle punch was guzzled,sushi + chicken curry + wild rice + mini persian love cakes devoured & general fun to be had.

A culmination of new + old,but all tied together with the love of nature,the grittiness of life & the raw beauty of our surroundings,most pieces were sold on the night & I couldn't be happier.

Thankyou hugely to everybody who wandered over to Little Boat to support my art junk,to Little Boat for giving me a space to show my art,to Sara for cooking a yummy lemongrass & lime curry & to my gorgeous boyfriend for his massive help & support & hugs.
